Brand new crate motor from Mercury installed and lake-tested-- this boat rips!!!

Well over 50 mph top end speed, nimble handling, jet-ski-like cornering!

We bought this 20' Sugar Sand Sole'/Calais knowing it had a motor failure after nearly 20 years of enjoyment. Plus, our owner Shawn loves Sugar Sand jet boats! We did several updates on the boat such as the motor (more on that below), some new upholstery, a brand new cover, trailer repairs/making safe for future, new stereo speakers, and new shift cable and reverse gate for smooth operation for the next owner.

The motor is the big deal though. The motor is a 240 HP Mercury Sportjet EFI! This is about a $13,000 job. We ordered a new 240 crate motor from Mercury, and also replaced the reed block assy, starter, injector, and belt. Our head tech took the time to install everything, shop test, and finally lake test. Everything is working flawlessly, is super fun to drive, and 1 hour of the 10-hour new engine break-in has been completed.

Everything in the pics is included.

MFR Info: How do you out-do a world class runabout like the Sugar Sand Calais? What if we add power, like Mercury's new 240 hp EFI? We've included a 57 gallon fuel tank which allows much more run time between fills and a cruising range in excess of 200 miles. Accelerating from 0 to 20 mph runs under 4 seconds for all engines, which is roughly twice as quick as traditional I/O drives. Helm seats are full suspension, significantly smoothing out even fairly rough chop.
